A letter from us
It's usually during night reading when you wish you started earlier and exam is the following day.
(OR you're a scholar and have never felt this way…)
Or you might have TRIED early but it still wasn't enough.
(OR you don't relate at all and you're just scrolling through the site…)
School feels like it's just you making sure you don't die while staying alive to pass… JUST WELL ENOUGH.
I probably live in some Fairytale but I believe it doesn't have to feel that way. I really wish school didn't feel SO UNCERTAIN.
I wish that we actually had each other as we went through it toget…?
(Meh, I'm not that good of a motivational speaker.)
I really just want My Genius to be a group of people who want to make things better for themselves.
We don't have it all figured out yet. Honestly, we're building this the same way we're fighting for this degree. 😂
The point is Nigeria can be… how it is, but school should be bearable.
So we're building an online hub or space or club or super secret sect or clique whatever you want to call it... a place where your short attention span is normal and you don't have to act like you have it all together. Getting help doesn't cost you your dignity (MY personal experience), or your pocket… because tell me why a broke student (ME) is paying THAT MUCH for a learning app… *sighhh... If I had that kind of money SCHOOL WOULD BE LESS STRESSFUL?
We're here because we believe some things are worth building even when there's no clear reward for it yet.
We just want to get through school and come out with something real, maybe a skill or a community OR even a version of ourself that isn't burnt out.
We might not get it right the first time. But if the students who come after us meet something stable, something that actually helps, then we've already won.
Welcome to My Genius. We're doing this together.
